BROKEN

On January 16, 2009, 20 year-old Bessan was killed when Israeli tanks shelled her family home in Gaza. In 2006, Bessan was one of five teenage girls from Palestine and Israel who traveled with filmmaker Debra Sugerman on a road trip across the USA. Their quest: to break down barriers between perceived enemies and to meet the President of the United States of America. Their remarkable journey was documented in the film Dear Mr. President.

BROKEN is the follow-up film that examines the death of Bessan. The film takes a close look into the continued suffering of the people in Gaza and their neighbors in Israel.

BROKEN has been invited to screen at the Al Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival in Doha, Qatar.

To meet violence with violence
doesn't solve anything.
